If You Are Doing GCSEs You Can Buy Me On eBay!

I was in the shower yesterday morning and I was just mulling over stuff (as you do) and I suddenly had a flashback to when I was 16 years old.  It is April, Easter hols coming up and what was I doing back then?

Well I was revising for my O levels (they are called GCSEs now).  I think back to that time and I realise just how little I knew about getting ready for what at the time were the most important exams of my short life.

One of the reasons I do what I do now is that I hope to give people the knowledge and skills that I know we all need to function a little more effectively and to make our lives better.

One of those skills is the ability to learn new information quickly and easily and whilst this country still relies on examinations to assess children’s abilities then study skills and the correct use of the myriad of study tips, then those are important to know.

So I wondered if there were any pupils out there fretting about the exams and you know I bet there are thousands.  Through the work I have already done with thousands of pupils and the programmes that I have designed that have been presented to over half a million pupils I have helped a little in passing on these ideas.

Now I can’t personally help everyone (try as I will) so I am chipping away at the block alongside the others who are doing similar work.

I then thought that I wonder if there is just one student who could benefit from my personal help and guidance through the next 5 weeks (because that is all that is left before the first exam begins in May).

So I had a brain wave (it’s amazing what comes to mind when you are covered in suds and blinded by shampoo) and decided that I would auction my time off on e bay to help one GCSE student and guide them through their exams.

I only put the auction up an hour ago and sent out press releases to the local TV, Radio and Newspapers so it is early days yet.  The auction will finish at 7.00pm on Sunday 9th April and then one lucky student will have my personal assistance.

I have no idea whether anyone will be interested but at the very least it will be an interesting experiment.  It is quite possible that someone could get as much as £3000.00 of my time and resources for as little as a few pence.

Now I am not sure whether that is a good thing or not :-) but if someone takes the time to bid, has a strong enough need for my help and they get it for 5 pence I am still going to give them £3000.00+ of value.

So watch this space and I will let you know how the auction goes – complete lack of interest or overwhelmed with response – who knows, wait and see.
